God's will for your life

What we need, what it looks like, & how it's possible (Colossians 1:9-14)

1. What we need (vs 9-10a)

‘that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him’

1 Thess 4:3: ‘For this is the will of God, your sanctification’.
1 Thess 5:16–18: ‘Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you’.

2. What it looks like (vs 10b-12a)

i. Bearing fruit in every good work

ii. Increasing in the knowledge of God

iii. Being strengthened: with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy

iv. Giving thanks to the Father

3. How it’s is possible (vs 12b-14)

i. Because of who you are already (vs 13-14)

ii. Because of where you’re going (v12b)
