Stephen Steele
Minister
Stephen has been minister of the congregation since 2015. He is married to Carla and they have four children. He has a regular column in the Free Press, serves as Chaplain to Stranraer FC and writes for Gentle Reformation.
James Fraser
Elder
James is one of the doctors in the town and has been an elder in the congregation since 2022. He is married to Katie and they have three children.
Who runs the church?
The church is Jesus' idea, not ours. He decides how the church is to be run, how it is to worship and what its priorities are.
Following the pattern we see in the New Testament (eg Acts chapter 15), Stephen and James are accountable to a wider body of men known as a Presbytery.
The Presbytery meets every few months and is made up of ministers and elders of all the different RP churches from Stranraer to Stornoway. Presbytery is responsible for overseeing existing congregations and planting new ones.
